Peripatetic Hearing Impairment Service

This home and school visiting service supports social integration and personal independence of children and young people with hearing impairments.

The service starts from diagnosis and may continue throughout a pupil’s school career.

Specialist teachers will:

  • visit pre-school children and their families at home
  • visit a wide variety of preschool and school settings
  • offer personal, educational and audiological support to children and young people

Referrals are mainly received from audiology departments in clinics and hospitals.
