The Children and Young Peoples (CYP): Gardening project

The Children and Young Peoples Gardening Project is aimed at Children and young People with Special Educational Needs, with the primary focus on those experiencing:
- emotional and behavioural difficulties
- mild learning difficulties
- mild physical disabilities
- bereavement
- mild mental health issues
- bullying
- disrupted education
- risk of offending
- various other challenges/issues that may be impacting them
The project welcomes all children and young people who may or may not initially have an interest in gardening.
Their sessions involve gardening and garden related arts and crafts, which helps promote self-esteem, resilience and confidence, social skills, fine motor skills, attention restoration and many other benefits.

Our sessions will be carried out in small groups (Max 6) or on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis where necessary. There will be a maximum 2 year age difference within the groups.

The project is accessed via referral form which is available through our website. We cannot accept 'Walk ins'
The project runs seasonally, from February to the end of October. CYP is closed from November until the end of January.
