Guide Dogs

Guide Dogs is a charity that provides emotional and practical support, information and training to help blind children and young people get around safely and independently.

Their support includes teaching life skills such as handling money and preparing food. They provide advice on choosing the most appropriate technology and sensory equipment to help children with a vision impairment study and play. This includes:

  • buddy dogs
  • guide dogs for children and young people
  • education support
  • speaker service
  • family support

The charity also runs a grants programme that allows families to apply for recommended items.
