A registered charity in Croydon, PiP supports parents and carers of children and young people (aged 0 to 25) with additional needs and disabilities in Croydon. Its aim is to improve lives of families by providing specialist support, expert training and up to date local knowledge and information. Support is provided in different ways:
Croydon Parent Carer ForumPiP also coordinates the Croydon Parent Carer Forum, whose aim is to ensure local services meet the needs of disabled children and their families. This is a voluntary group of parents and carers of children and young people (0 to 25) with additional needs and disabilities. The forum brings together the voices and experiences of a diverse community and works with local organisations and services to give feedback on what is working well for their families and what needs to be improved. This is done through consultations, surveys and meetings. Parent Carer Support PlansIf you live in Croydon and are a parent carer of a child/young person aged 0 to 25 with a disability and have parental responsibility, you have the right to request a parent carer needs assessment.
